Leonard Davies (1910 - 1966)
| Leonard Davies, B.B.C.M. Born South Wales, 1910. Musical Director Crystal Palace Band, 1935-1939, Baxendale's Works 1929-1940, and then after six years war service was musical Director of St. Hilda's Band 1946 - 1949. Appointed Principal of the Parr School of Music on the death of the founder, francis Parr, in October 1948. Musical Director of the Manchester Orpheus Society and lecturer on musical subjects to the British Poetry and Drama Guild. Has has much broadcasting experience and several of his arrangements for brass band have been broadcast from time to time. |
