Colin Simpson and Robert Sheehan had a sensible auction to a decent enough contract: The key was Sheehan's Three Spade rebid. The only other pair to bid a slam were wrong-footed by North supporting hearts, and they ended up in the doomed Six Hearts. The Simpson/Sheehan auction on this hand was awarded the prize for best bid hand for a simple, natural auction that was rewarded by arriving at the right spot. |
