Dramatis Personae:
North: Andrew Woodcock
East: Colin Simpson
South: Ed Levy
West: Robert Sheehan

In 6NT Colin Simpson received the fortunate lead of a club around to his jack. He played a diamond to dummy, and took a successful heart finesse. He laid down the ace of hearts (both opponents showing an even number) and followed this with the ace of clubs, then the ace of spades. A spade to dummy's ten held, and Colin cashed two more diamonds ending in dummy. He now played king and another club, and the hapless South was left with spades only. Well and truly enplayed, he led a spade and Colin inserted dummy's jack. Twelve tricks, and some neat card reading.

The award for the best played hand at The 2002 Lederer Memorial Trophy goes to Colin Simpson (All Stars).
