BRIDGE NEWS FROM THE LMBA 2003

The Harry Scully Trophy
In the Swiss Teams at the Young Bridge Challenge 2003, the Harry Scully Trophy was retained by the West of England Bridge Club. The team this year comprised three members of the current English Under-20 squad who pivoted to each play in turn with their captain, 9-year old London Member, Arthur Wolstenholme. Arthur thus set a very hard-to-beat record for the youngest ever winner of a national competition.

L to R Sarah Pinchbeck, Arthur Wolstenholme, John Atthey, Ian Green.
In the background is Mel Starkings who presented the prizes.

"All Stars" fail to retain the "Lederer" 2003 for the 6th time!

Well played; Phil King, Brian Senior, Andrew McIntosh, David Bakhshi

London Senior Pairs 2003.
This event was played in the President's room at the Queen's Club on April 13th, with a wonderful view over the Show Court.
London's senior event was studded with international standard players, but none of the others could get close to David Sellman and and Victor Silverstone. Click for results.
