Our Parish Priest
Father. Jim McGillicuddy
Father Jim McGillicuddy was born in Dublin, educated at Rathcoole National
School, Newbridge College, University College Dublin, and All Hallows College
Dublin where he was ordained a priest in 1973. He has served as a priest
at St. Joseph’s, East Greenwich (1973-76), All Hallows College - where
he taught philosophy (1976-81), St. Chad’s, South Norwood (1981-84), as
Catholic chaplain to the University of Kent at Canterbury (1984-88), Our
Lady of the Assumption, Deptford (1988-99) and since 1999 here at Sutton.
He is keen on parish visiting, and also on the missionary work of the Church.
Working with Aid to the Church in Need, whose national headquarters are
based in this parish, he has set up a parish project to support the work
of the diocese of Tombura – Yambio in South Sudan (2014). |
