A New Band Engagement!

The B Band say Farewell to Ian Whittaker
I
Ian Whittaker, the longest serving member of the Band and the Musical Director of the B Band since 2002, has left us for Cornwall . His retirement from CPB was celebrated by the B Band at a barbecue, kindly hosted by David Charlesworth in Beckenham on July 4th. At the event, the B Band presented Ian with a beautiful conductor's baton in an engraved case. There was then a short impromptu concert in David's garden!

The band owe Ian a great debt of gratitude for all the hard work he has put in over the years, particularly his recent work in setting up the B Band to play in the 4th Section Nationals at Stevenage in 2007/2008.
Well done!
Ian, we all wish you all the best for the future and please do come back to see us as often as you can.

Golders Hill - Sunday June 7th
'Koyofxx' on YouTube bumped into our concert by accident and took some video. He writes;
"Wandering from place to place, having lost myself as usually found that kind of magic at the Golders Green Park, live performance of Crystal Palace Band. Pieces like you'll see are memorable as the Saturday was indeed.that makes life bearable...thought I know Hampsted Heath well-terrible mistake! London always gives me food for mind and heart, man thanx for my regular getting lost to get this kind of happiness."
